Welcome to the Flowerhandlers Community Bulletin Board – a quarterly publication of floral ideas, information, and inspiration.

I've always thought that if flower lovers (consumers) understood what went on behind the scenes of the floral industry, what it takes to get flowers from the farm to their favorite floral retailer, they would appreciate flowers even more.

So, in the Flowerhandlers Community Bulletin Board , you get a sneak peek at what's going on behind the scenes of the floral industry – as seen through my eyes.

First there are plenty of pictures distributed throughout the next six pages from the tons of shows and workshops that were offered this summer. And, I'll let you know what we've been up to over the past three months in the Feature (page 2).

Autumn always means Back-to-School and Back-to-Business for most people and it's the same here in the Flowerhandlers studios. Everything we are working on for the upcoming harvest season is described in the Focus (page 3).

Your new Tipsheet (see page 4) is a simple but exquisite hand-tied bouquet using fresh hydrangea as an armature and adding a trendy European sisal touch at the end. I'm sure you will enjoy adapting it to your own selection of flowers.

The story of an individual floral designer's journey is told on page 5 – Styling & Design. And, a very special project that includes all Flowerhandlers Community Members is introduced in the Perspective. Read all about it and plan to join us for this unique (and as far as I know) first of its kind event!

Looking forward to seeing you all in person this fall!

Enjoy!
